Older workers, I recently attended the United Way 2024 Summit on Aging, where I was surrounded by incredible organizations, all dedicated to supporting older adults. Picture this: a space buzzing with energy, packed with resources—from healthcare guidance to financial planning, and everything in between. Everyone there shared a common goal: empowering older adults to thrive, not just get by. And for those who attended, the summit was more than a collection of booths and brochures—it was a genuine chance to connect, share stories, and feel part of a larger community.
Finding Your Next Move
Older workers, one theme came up over and over: meaningful engagement. Many older adults told me they or others they know are eager to stay active, share their expertise, and find roles that enhance this time in their lives. Yet a lot of those individuals don’t know where or how to start looking for opportunities. They’re ready to make a difference, but the path forward isn’t always clear.
