Cheers to the Ones Who Paved the Way

On Your Own Time hasn’t been blogging lately—but we’re back in time for the festive season!

As the season begins, let's think about the older people in our communities, many of whom spent decades in the workforce, building the workplaces many of us take for granted today. They trained staff, built teams, solved problems, learned different technology to make things run more smoothly and experienced good times and tough ones. But now, some are facing the holidays with less connection than they deserve.

That’s why we’re excited to share that Stocking Stuffers for Seniors is back for 2025 at all London Drugs locations across Western Canada.

If you’ve ever taken part, you already know what a huge difference even a small gift can make. If you’re new to the program, it's simple: when you visit any London Drugs store , you'll see, at the entrance, an in-store Christmas tree, with gift tags hanging from the branches. Each one includes a wish list from a local senior or a nearby care home or charitable partner. The requests aren't extravagant; they're thoughtful items that bring seniors comfort and joy.

Once you’ve selected a tag, buy a new, non–gift-wrapped item, or even bring one from home, attach the tag, and drop it at the Customer Service Counter by December 8, 2025. You're more than welcome to add a handwritten holiday card, which often become treasured keepsakes.

As an added incentive you can collect bonus points when you return a gift with its tag, as a small thank-you for participating.

To share your experience or follow along, tag #StockingStuffersForSeniors on social media.

Let’s help make this season brighter for the older workers who shaped our workplaces.
